Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) and the State Services Commission (SSC) are seeking comment on a proposal to replace the existing e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) geospatial metadata standard. This standard would be replaced with the Australia New Zealand Land Information Council (ANZLIC) Metadata Profile V1.1 (PDF 394KB) which is aligned with more recent international standards developments.
You will find more detail about the proposal in the Request for Comment document (PDF 332KB).
Comments (in particular whether you agree or disagree with the proposal and why) can be entered using this online form.*
The closing day for comments is Friday 7 May 2010. If the consensus of comments is supportive then the proposal will be considered by the SSC for approval.
Queries can be directed to me on 04 4983501.
Geoff O'Malley
Senior Analyst
New Zealand Geospatial Office
