Overview of the Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information (CRCSI)

On 30 April 2009, NZGO hosted a presentation by CRCSI, an Australian-based spatial research centre, on their work to date and what they hope to achieve in the years to come. The presentation formed part of a roadshow to garner further interest and partnerships for a funding rebid for CRCSI-2.

About the presentation

The presentation was given by Mark Judd (Chair of 43pl), Mike Ridout (CRCSI Communications Director, Education Director) and Peter Woodgate (CRCSI Chief Executive Officer).

The purpose of the presentation was to:

  1. Explain the Australian Cooperative Research Centres Programme (CRC)
  2. Summarise the first six years of the CRCSI
  3. Examine the proposed CRCSI-2 rebid
  4. Hear about New Zealand's spatial research needs.

The presentation also outlined the existing international partnerships and confirmed partnerships for the CRCSI-2 rebid, including New Zealand organisations.
