One Day Symposium: Mobilising SDI

3 August 2010, 9:00am - 4:30pm - Copthorne Hotel, Oriental Parade, Wellington

The Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information (NZ node) and the New Zealand Geospatial Office invite you to a one day symposium: Mobilising SDI (Spatial Data Infrastructure).

The New Zealand Geospatial Office is taking a lead role in helping government realise productivity gains from geospatial information and technology. A key achievement in 2010 was establishing a New Zealand node of Australia's Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information (CRCSI). CRCSI brings together government, academia and industry to form powerful research and development collaborations. By attending this symposium, you will be informed by some of the latest thinking on SDI from Australia and New Zealand and have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas for potential research projects in CRCSI's SDI research programme.

CRCSI's SDI research programme

The SDI research programme is a high priority for CRCSI. The programme vision is to deliver the value of spatial data to decision makers through a market-ready SDI that aims to:

  • create the foundations required for a robust spatial marketplace
  • leverage existing SDI investment in both New Zealand and Australia
  • inform policy, regulation and standards development.

Help us build a valuable research programme which will underpin the development of SDI in New Zealand and Australia. Contribute to the open discussions, network with your peers and explore potential research projects.

Registration

RSVP by 23 July 2010 to nzgo@linz.govt.nz. Places are limited to 70 so register early.

The symposium is free of charge. For an agenda download the symposium invitation (PDF 185KB).
