Presentations from the Metadata Australia 2010 Sharing data, sharing ideas conference held in Canberra on 26-27 June are now avaliable.

The conference really showed the critical role metadata plays across all sectors in making data easy to find and use, which in turn leads to better decision-making, innovation, and increasing knowledge and economic development.

The geospatial sector was well-represented at the conference, and presentations with a geospatial theme included:

• Practical Metadata and its Management for National Spatial Datasets - Michael Dixon, PSMA Australia

• Data Standards or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Metadata - Michael Beahan, Australian Bureau of Statistics
