For many years New Zealand high schools have struggled to introduce GIS to their students. Feedback we’ve received has indicated that restricted computer access, budget constraints, and minimal access to comprehensive New Zealand centric lesson plans using GIS have all contributed to this struggle. read more

Last week the NZGO took the first steps towards establishing a national spatial data infrastructure (SDI) for New Zealand. The publication, in the form of a cookbook, focuses on initial guidance for implementing an SDI targeted to government agencies and others interested in participating. read more
