On 28 April 2009, Professor Terry Moore, an expert on satellite navigation, gave a public lecture on "Galileo and the Future of Satellite Positioning", supported by NZGO and Geospatial Research Centre (NZ) Ltd.

The lecture provided information about the state of the European Galileo project and other advances in satellite navigation. It also presented the expected benefits of the project in terms of accuracy, availability and reliability of service.
Professor Terry Moore is Director of the IESSG at the University of Nottingham, where he is also the Professor of Satellite Navigation. He holds a PhD degree in Space Geodesy from the University of Nottingham. He has over 25 years research experience with GNSS and is a consultant and adviser to European and UK government organisations and industry. He is currently Vice-President of the Royal Institute of Navigation, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a Member of the US Institute of Navigation.
