Date: 12 May 2009
Current Director of the New Zealand Geospatial Office (NZGO) Brendon Whiteman will be leaving the NZGO to take up a Senior Policy Analyst role within Land Information New Zealand. Brendon will transition to this new position over the next two weeks and will finish as Director on 22 May.
It is important there is continuity in the NZGO. Recruitment will now begin for the position of Geospatial Custodian. This is a new role created following a review of the NZGO undertaken in April this year and replaces the role of Director. An Acting Geospatial Custodian will be appointed, prior to Brendon finishing, until a permanent appointment can be made.
The Geospatial Custodian will lead the NZGO and will be the working champion of the Geospatial Strategy.
The NZGO wishes Brendon all the best in his new position.
